Roll Call
Fantasy Softball - Congressional Women's Softball Game

Welcome to Roll Call Fantasy Softball

Welcome to Roll Call's fantasy softball contest, featuring the Women's Congressional Softball game! It's just like regular fantasy baseball but unlike waiting all summer to see how your team does, you'll know after just one game.

The rules are simple:
  • Pick 9 players from either of the two rosters
  • Sit back and earn points based on how your team performs
  • Win a Prize - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will each win a prize. Last year we awarded a $200 gift card.

The prestigious Congressional Women's Softball Game began in 2009 with four captains: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine). They brought together a team of women Members of Congress to play the female campaign staff from both parties after Wasserman Schultz announced her own battle with breast cancer.

In 2010, the Members asked the women of the Washington, D.C., press corps to join the game as the opponent and a lasting rivalry was born. The Congressional Women's Softball Game raises more than $50,000 each year for the Young Survival Coalition and has become a staple of Capitol Hill summer activities.

Roll Call's Fantasy Softball Challenge is open to the public. Any and all are encouraged to enter, with one entry per email address. All entries must be received by 6pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Any entries received after that point will be disqualified and will not be eligible for the prize or recognition.

Prize Rules No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited, taxed or otherwise restricted. Entrants must be over age 18 and must provide a valid email address. The winner will be the registrant whose qualified entry or team has accumulated the most points based on the scoring below. Second and third place will be awarded to the qualified entries who have accumulated the next best points. One prize per person. Anyone who places in the top three multiple times will only win once. Any subsequent entries will be forfeited and the next highest scorer will be awarded the prize. Winners will be notified by email and will have 48 hours to respond. In the event the winner cannot be notified, the registrants who have accumulated the next highest point totals or winners of the tiebreak will be notified.

Official scoring will be kept for the event, with points to registrants as follows:
  • Single10
  • Double20
  • Triple30
  • Home Run40
  • Walk10
  • Run10
  • RBI10

Once an entry has been submitted, it cannot be updated. The winner and top 10 will be announced within a week of the event, Wednesday June 18, 2013. Should more than one registrant accumulate the most points, a tie-breaker of the final score will be used. The registrant with the score closest to the final score will be deemed the winner. Should a further tie exist, a process of either a coin-flip or picking a winner out of a hat will be done by an impartial third party.
